He graduated from Freed-Hardeman University in 1981, has been preaching for 29 years, and has been married to Cindy for 27 years. They have two children, Caleb who is 23, and Hannah who is 19. Glenn and Cindy are the authors of books such as “You’re Singing My Song,” “Your Mama Don’t Dance,” “Crown of Creation,” “Women of Deliverance,” “Get Real” (co-authored with Chuck Webster) and “Loose Change.” They have also produced four cassettes and CD’s called “Hannah’s Hundred” which are Bible verses set to music to help children memorize the Scripture from a very young age. Glenn holds as many gospel meetings each year as local work will allow and Cindy and he often conduct classes and seminars about the family and home. Glenn has done foreign mission work in campaigns in Africa, South America, and Ukraine. He is seen on Gospel Broadcasting Network hosting Focus on Faith, Most of A Minute, and How to Start a Church. Glenn is currently the pulpit minister for the West Huntsville Church of Christ in Huntsville, Alabama where he also serves as an elder.
Following Freed-Hardeman, David and Debbie spent two years in Memphis. David earned an M.A. at Harding Graduate School of Religion, and Debbie worked at W.R. Grace Chemical as a staff accountant. During these years, David preached at the Mount Zion church of Christ in Obion County, Tennessee (driving 200+ miles round trip each Sunday).
In addition, having rekindled his love for playing music and performing, David formed a band with fellow Freed-Hardeman students in 1980. For the next three years, they played for many youth rallies and college related events and concerts throughout Alabama and Tennessee. This second turn at music culminated in recording studio sessions at both the famed Sun Records Studios, as well as the studios of former pop singer Al Green, both in Memphis.
Also while in Memphis, David and Debbie gave birth to their first of two daughters, Sarah, in July of 1982. Their second daughter, Ashley, was born in October of 1984. Sarah is now a Freed-Hardeman alumnus and is a banker in Franklin, Tennessee. Ashley is an early childhood education major at Faulkner University, and will graduate in December 2007. Ashley is also engaged to be married in April of 2008.
In 1983, having a life long passion for the great mission-field type conditions in his home state of Georgia, David and Debbie returned to Georgia to work with the Fairview church of Christ in Stockbridge. This congregation would become almost their life’s work, lasting from March of 1983, through August of 2005. During this time the church at Fairview more than doubled in size, with the Lord blessing this work tremendously in various ways.
In August of 2005, David and Debbie left full-time local work for him to become the Director of the Georgia School of Preaching and Biblical Studies, hosted by the Piedmont Road church of Christ in Marietta, Georgia. Since becoming director, David has helped the school to open additional new campuses in both Warner Robins and Valdosta, Georgia, and has increased the school’s quarterly enrollment from 25-30 students to a new high of 73 students in the current spring quarter of 2007. David also serves as an associate minister for Piedmont Road, with regular preaching duties on a rotating monthly basis.
Since 1983, Debbie, in addition to being a very happy and fulfilled stay-at-home Mom for several years, has worked in various accounting jobs for CPA’s and private corporations, and is currently Pension Coordinator for the Clayton County, Georgia, Board of Commissioners in Jonesboro, Georgia.
Through the years since 1980, David has preached in many gospel meetings, retreats, lectureships, seminars, and other efforts throughout the United States. He has also done extensive short term foreign mission preaching trips to the South Pacific and Caribbean. He has also served from 1997 to the present as the Chaplain of the Greater Atlanta Detachment of the United States Marine Corps League, and is involved in many Marine Corps related activities as a Service Officer for his local detachment.
In his spare time, David continues to do recording studio work, is a published BMI songwriter, and occasionally plays a round or two of golf.

In 1982 he was hired by Freed-Hardeman University and shortly afterward finished his Master of Theology at Harding Memphis and later completed his Doctor of Missiology in 1985 while teaching at FHU.
Since coming to FHU, he has served as Director of Mission Studies, as the first Dean of the School of Biblical Studies, and (since 1989) as the Director of Graduate Studies in Bible.
